English for Tourism

By the end of this course learners will be able to

  • ask and answer questions about the personal profiles of tourism employers and employees,
  • get information about a package tour,
  • produce a tour itinerary for a web page or brochure,
  • make a report on travel agency quality and features,
  • make suggestions to a new customer,
  • describe the location, services and facilities of a hotel,
  • take a hotel reservation by telephone,
  • write advertisements and press release describing a promotional campaign,
  • take a holiday booking from a client.

Course Overview:

  • 6 lessons per week (50 minutes each), total lesson time in the course 72 hours.
  • Teachers use course books, authentic material and out-of-class activities in their lessons.
  • Students have access to the International House worldwide online material-bank.
  • The maximum class size is 12 students - with a class average of ten.
  • Students at Intermediate level and above can attend this course.
